Background and Need
The ICPI Foundation is working to reduce worker shortages in segmental concrete pavement construction by offering a grant program to vocational schools and colleges. To qualify for a grant of up to $20,000 USD to purchase paver-related construction tools, educational institutions must engage in a royalty-free license agreement with the Concrete Masonry & Hardscapes Association to teach the CMHA Concrete Paver Installer course as part of their construction curriculum. Many schools have already taken the opportunity to incorporate the CMHA instructional materials into their landscape construction course.
The Tools for Schools program provides capital investments in schools which helps instructors deliver essential hands-on segmental paving construction training to their students and the industries future workforce. Grant agreements must include a promotion plan recognizing the ICPI Foundation grant as well as an ongoing maintenance plan for the tools.
