Fearn Residence

Objectives

The project homeowners were looking to maximize space in their backyard and desired a covered dining area, fire pit, hot tub, and play area for their kids. The goal – to have the layout cohesively flow and seamlessly match the home’s exterior.

Solutions

Project designers had extensive meetings with the homeowners to ensure this project included everything they wanted while staying under budget. The installers matched the pavers to the home’s exterior paint. The beautiful mocha pavers strongly contrasted with the natural freckled stones in front of the fence and around the hot tub. Rough-cut pavers were used for both the patio and fire pit. All the pavers, stones, trees, and wooden furniture around the fire pit, patio, and hot tub created this feeling of a forest oasis within a suburban backyard. To prevent a jarring contrast to the grass-lined play area, the designers laid down the same pavers used for the patio and fire pit area to connect the patio to the swing set and create a cohesive yard that checked off every goal for the homeowners.

Results

The homeowners are over the moon with the outcome of this project. It is beyond what they envisioned and is the perfect place for them to enjoy each evening after work with friends and family. There is something for everyone in this new space, and the parents didn’t have to compromise their wishes to ensure they had a kid-friendly backyard. With a detailed vision from the homeowners and careful planning by project designers and installers, this backyard project is a dreamscape for anyone.
